Five-and-twenty glades. One road that burns. Learn it in a breath.
Choose one glade and bury a wager in it, from 10 to 500 gold. One cart to an outlaw each riding. Add more coin, or move the cart, while the candle still burns.
When the horn sounds, a sealed writ names one row and one column, nine glades in torchlight. Every cart caught upon them is seized entire.
The writ's seal is published before you stake and broken after, so the patrol cannot be bent to any outlaw's favour.
Seized gold does not stay with the Sheriff. It returns to the glades left standing, split by the weight of each wager. Sit clear of the patrol and you eat the losers' gold; a sliver of every seizure flies on to the Last Arrow.
Marian's Glance and Huntsman's Volley set her eye on glades you mean to watch. Robin's Gambit is the bold one: after the row burns but before the column falls, slip thy cart to another glade. A true escape, if you dare guess the column.
Thou hast earned a place on the whitelist. Give thy Robinhood wallet and the greenwood writes thy name upon the roll.
